Mingo

My name is Mingo and I come from Cabo Verde. As a young child, I had a serious illness that required me to come to Portugal in hopes of regaining my health. That was a very difficult period for me, as I had to leave my family behind and spend approximately 2 years in the hospital. While it was a long struggle, it did teach me to fight and not to take things from granted. As I got better, sports enabled me to reinvent myself and build my confidence. Now, as a grown man, I keep looking for silver linings. I want to keep improving and I challenge everyone to value themselves and the opportunities life gives them.  

I chose the Landscape because it was the style I most liked. Despite the fact that I could choose from many different colours, I chose to use only two colours: black and white. The black represents the darkness in which I lived when I was a young boy and the white the light at the end of a long tunnel that I kept trying to focus on. One never knows the future: I never in my life thought I would create a pair of sneakers and here I am.
