Our workshop is going to take a quick - and well deserved - summer break.
The year of 2020 will most probably go on record as one of the toughest years the world has endured to a point that this sentence does not require any context or explanation. For businesses, it has been equally difficult. While DiVERGE is based on e-commerce which has seen - in some categories - boosts in sales due to lockdowns, most businesses have had to readapt to a new paradigm: loss of clients, cancelations, problems with supply have just been a few of the issues businesses across the world have had to deal with.
Our partner workshop has faced and has overcome many of these challenges while continuing to handcraft sneakers of great quality for DiVERGE and our community. At the same time, they did so without furloughing any members of their team and maintained their certification both by Sedex, one of the world’s leading ethical trade service providers, and the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI), a leading supply chain management system that drives social compliance and improvements in factories. We could not be more thankful for their professionalism and dedication in this turbulent context.
All this hard work needs to be compensated at some point in time and they will enjoy a much needed break from the last week of August until the first week of September. During that period, DiVERGE will still be operating as usual - the only consequence for our clients is that our sneakers will take a bit more than the usual two weeks to be delivered. If you - like us - support ethical working cultures, join us in wishing our workshop a good holiday and feel free to order your next pair so they can come back to work in full force.
